Report: PS4′s DriveClub Delayed To Spring 2014
Several sites are reporting that PS4 launch title DriveClub (or #DRIVECLUB for the social media-savvy), has been pushed back into Spring 2014.
The “next generation, socially connected racing game” was is slated to be a PlayStation 4 launch title, and Sony’s official DriveClub page still lists Nov. 15, 2013, as the release date. However, sources have told both Kotaku and The Same Coin that a delay is imminent.
From The Same Coin:
We’ve had word from an anonymous source that Sony’s upcoming PS4 launch title Driveclub is delayed until spring 2014. While no reason for the delay was given it has been reported previously that the game had looked a little unfinished when shown at various events this year.
…and Kotaku is telling a similar story:
To add some fuel to this rumor fire, today in San Francisco, Sony is holding an event to show off their PS4 games. Although DriveClub was originally part of the lineup, a Sony rep told me this afternoon that it has been removed due to a “scheduling conflict.”
When I asked if the game has been delayed, the Sony rep said they don’t comment on rumors and speculation.
Game Front has reached out to Sony Computer Entertainment for comment. We’ll be sure to update with any new information.
The DriveClub reports come one day after Ubisoft delayed its own next-gen racing game, The Crew, from Q1 2014 to later in the same year. Ubisoft also pushed Watch Dogs, a planned PS4 launch title, to Q1 2014.
