PSA: Black Ops 2 on PC is Available on the West Coast Now

Update! Seems Steam has locked Black Ops 2 back down. So if you were lucky enough to play a little, congratulations; looks like we’ll be waiting until midnight PST after all.

Original post below:

If you’ve been waiting for midnight to roll around on the U.S. West Coast to fire up Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 after preloading it from Steam, we have good news for you — you can actually play right now.

We’ve confirmed that Steam has unlocked Black Ops 2 for West Coast players at the same time as those on the East Coast. That means if you’re itching to frag, you can do so immediately. We’ve also managed to play a few games to see how things are running, and so far, so good for Treyarch and Activision’s latest entry into the Call of Duty series.

Word of warning, however: the game’s FOV is set at 65 and can’t be changed as of right now, which is a little low for most PC players (and might even result in a headache for some of you). Reportedly, Treyarch means to fix that option and allow PC users to open up the FOV to as high as 90 with an upcoming patch.

Are you guys jumping into Black Ops 2 on PC now? Our review will be live when the rest of the West Coast will be getting the game, at 12:01 a.m. tonight.
