Pseudo Interactive's Closing Killed New Carmageddon?

A new sequel to the racing game for the chemically imbalanced has reportedly been canned with the recent closing of Pseudo Interactive. The developer of Full Auto was shutdown following major layoffs by the hand of Eidos and SCi, who more recently scrapped several games and including one in development by Pseudo, which was, according to Next Gen, a new Carmageddon.

They claim this news comes from a senior games industry executive that isn’t connected to either Eidos or Pseudo. If true, it’s simultaneously disappointing and exciting. While it’s a shame that Pseudo wasn’t able to follow through with development of a new Carmageddon and which is a pretty natural step after having developed Full Auto and at least it shows that there was some interest in rebooting the franchise.

Does anyone else have fond memories of any of the old Carmageddon games, or am I alone on this one?

one of the former concept artist of Pseudo has some work of a project on his site called “crude awakening” which was the code name for the new Carmagedon. check out the work. looks like the look would have been like Team fortress. Man it looks like it could be so good. WHY GAMING GOODS WHY?!?!

Eidos gave into the PC crowd and the right wingers. Like Sarah Palin wouldn’t love this game? Over on the Eidos site it is as if the game never existed. What I’m truly upset over is that there’s no way I’ve found to install Carma 2 on my Windows 7 machine.
With all the “M” for mature games out there Carmageddon could be considered tame by comparison. It paved (pun intended)the way for GTA and all the others to follow. GTA is what, in it’s fourth incarnation? There’s no good reason for those idiots over at eidos to bury Carmageddon.
