PSPgo Getting Price Drops Around the World

The sadly expensive PSPgo hasn’t sold well anywhere, despite some pretty badass deals Sony has thrown out there. And as we approach Christmas, Sony is marking the thing down all over the place to try to make up for lost time. In Japan, the PSPgo is now priced at 16,800 yen, down from 26,800 yen; in North America, it’s down to $199 from $249; and in the UK, it will be 159 pounds starting November 1.

It’s about time, I think, even though Sony will likely be taking a big loss on this. But if you don’t move the console you can’t sell games, so it evens out. And they’re going to really need to move these if, in fact, the PSP2 is coming next year, because that means this will be the last big push they can make with the current PSP generation.
