THQ has announced that the PC version of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords has shipped nationwide to retailers today. In addition to the copy that can be found in stores, the game is also apparently available for download, though the notice we were sent didn’t indicate what site to go to. At any rate, the game combines casual puzzle gaming with RPG elements to create a rich and addicting gameplay experience.
In announcing this, I feel almost like a meth dealer, because this game is seriously a life eater. It’s not that it’s particularly awe-inspiring, so much as it has the ability to suck in even the most casual player for hours on end; especially since it combines the addictive powers of both a puzzler and an RPG. I’m still working my way through the Xbox Live Arcade version that came out a few weeks ago, and I still find it difficult to pull away from it once I’ve started playing. The box should come with a Surgeon General’s warning or something: “Game at your own risk.”
