Very few people realize that Nintendo was actually formed in 1889. I guess it’s safe to say that they will be around as long as society is. Here’s a few quick facts about Nintendo that you may not know:
- The Marufuku Company was founded in 1889 to produce Japanese playing cards
- In 1907, the company’s name was changed to Nintendo when they westernized
- “Nintendo” means “leave luck to heaven.”
- Nintendo established a multitude of electronic companies such as Panasonic
- They currently own the majority share in the Seattle Mariners
