Rage Dev Console Commands

What’s better than a few good cheats? Like any good PC game, the developers left behind their own personal cheat codes for use in development, and players everywhere can now reap the benefits. To access and use this feature, check out how to enable the Rage Dev Console. If you’re not a dirty cheater, but still need some help working through the campaign, check out Game Front’s video and text walkthrough. i have rage 1683.2

after the patch, the console itself is not disabled, but the changing of any cvars via the console HAS been disabled. adding cvars to a config file also DOES NOT allow them to be changed.

You might want to read BlkDrgn’s helpful comment again, you’re missing a very important point.

@Technutt What @BlkDrgn meant was that gamenewscenter.com copied OUR work word for word, not the other way around. Our boy Kevin Thielenhaus does a great job of providing helpful cheats/secrets/easter egg pages like these.

Sadly, this isn’t new. I’ve noticed a few of these “scraper” sites stealing our content lately. I’ll get on it and ask them to remove the page, thanks for the heads up @BlkDrgn!

@enrico, it seems that the latest patch for RAGE locked these dev console cheats unfortunately. So when you type “cvarAdd g_permagodmode 1″ in the dev console, the value remains “0″ and doesn’t activate the cheat. We’ve reach out to Bethesda/id for help. More info on this article here about the patch in general:

On October 13, 2011 at 3:52 am

I’m guessing they set a variable to 0 (similar to Valve’s sv_cheats)
just gotta find out what the hell was changed and change it back before cheating =P

cvarAdd pm_thirdperson 1 : third person view
cvarAdd pm_runspeed (you experiment with this)

On October 16, 2011 at 5:15 am

actually it’s still possible to turn on cheats by loading map using command devmap mapname like in q3a. but the list of maps is still unknown.. wish i could know it to take some screens in third person view..

On October 17, 2011 at 10:26 am

devmap game/wasteland1/wasteland1

That’ll load the game at the very beginning inside your ark, but unfortunately the cheat commands still don’t work.

Has anyone discovered a work around yet?

On November 7, 2011 at 3:01 pm

Check out this hex editing tutorial for the PC Version of Rage. While obviously more tedious than simply typing commands into a console, it does allow for some “console-like” features ( e.g. summoning additional ammo, increasing cash, etc. )

Did anyone ever find out if noclip could be usedd in Rage and the command line?

fuck you

On July 4, 2012 at 10:59 am

the commands above are total lies none of them work

On July 4, 2012 at 12:14 pm

Don’t forget to put +set com_allowconsole 1 in the command line!

On December 21, 2012 at 7:52 pm

Cheats DO work, but not the ones on all of the websites. I have found that the following 2 cheats work Very Well :

give ammo 400

give cash 9999

enter these commands after pressing the tilde key (Steam) and you will get 400 rounds of all types of ammo and 9999 dollars to spend.
