Del the Funky Homosapien is many things to the rap community: a member of the Gorillaz, leader of Heiroglyphics, Ice Cube’s younger cousin. To the gaming community, he’s also known as a nerdcore rapper whose tracks have appeared in several games, mostly in the Tony Hawk series. The other day, he showed off both his rapping skills and his love of video games in Purple Reign Studios as he performed a freestyle to promote his new album, “The Eleventh Hour.” His impromptu performance had him dropping familiar names like “Yoshi,” “Zaxxon,” and even “Congo Bongo.” Besides that, he’s just one of those great rappers left over from before rap music seemed to degenerate into being strictly about making “club music.”
