Razer PC Motion Controller Gets Exclusive Portal 2 Levels (VIDEO)

We heard during CES 2011 last week that along with the new Hydra PC motion controller from Razer come some controller-specific levels for Portal 2 — and now there’s video from Venturebeat showing us what they’re like.

The motion controllers allow for some interesting changes to Portal game play, allowing you to manipulate objects by stretching or contracting them. The Hydra is like two Wii nunchuck controllers, which employs a magnetic field to measure your movements, instead of a camera. It seems to allow for smaller, more specific movements using the controller’s “six degrees of freedom.”

Along with the controllers and its field-projecting base unit, Valve is releasing a Portal 2 level pack. The whole thing is supposed to go for less than $100 when it’s released, although we don’t know exactly when that is. Portal 2, on the other hand, is due out in April.
