Ready for More Ezio? Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

Ubisoft is completing its “Ezio Trilogy” (yeah, that’s a thing now) within its Assassin’s Creed “trilogy” with the newly announced Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

The info just came out in a press release from Ubisoft with some juicy details. This game will conclude the Renaissance-centric story of Ezio Auditore, the primary protagonist of Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and take place in Constantinople in the Ottoman Empire — a new location for the series. It also more closely involves Ezio and Altair, the assassin from the first game. Supposeld

Here are a few other interesting tidbits from the release:

In addition to Ezio’s award-winning story, the acclaimed online multiplayer experience returns, refined and expanded, with more modes, more maps and more characters that allow players to test their assassin skills against others from around the world. The latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga also includes revolutionary gameplay, allowing players to manipulate the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future

Brotherhood’s multiplayer mode is a pretty solid affair, and innovative in the way that Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell multiplayer modes were when they were first released. Check out our Brotherhood review for an idea of what it’s like.

More info on AC: Revelations is due in this month’s issue of Game Informer, and we’ll report back with all the dirt from when Ubisoft shows us more about the game at e3 in June.
