Red Faction Is Over

A couple years ago I might have met the news that the Red Faction franchise has finally met its end with sadness, but today I don’t care. That’s how lame Red Faction: Armageddon was. It sort of tarnished the whole franchise. It was a game that shouldn’t have been made.

The announcement about the franchise’s termination was made in a THQ conference call yesterday. “We do not intend to carry forward with that franchise in any meaningful way,” said the publisher’s CEO. And that is just about that. Sorry, Volition.

Aw, man, Red Faction was a good franchise taken in a mediocre direction. If they’d done something like Human Revolution and continued the series in a manner true to its roots but updated for a modern system, it’d still be here.

Agreed. A damn shame that instead od carrying in the direction Guerrilla went, they made Red of War. Ass.

Seriously, maybe instead of making a cookie cutter Linear action game; they should have went with what they did in Guerrilla… jackasses. I mean even though it was a linear game Armageddon wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t what it should have been!
