Redbox Game Rentals Going Live Everywhere This Weekend

I don’t know why, exactly, but I’m very excited to tell you that Redbox game rentals, which had been happening only in a few select US markets so far, are going national. Starting this weekend, everybody with access to a Redbox, which will be most of us living in urban areas, will be able to rent games for $2 per night out of the box.

This is great for a few reasons. 1) Redbox machines can stock a lot more copies of things than a video store can, 2) you can check the stock in your Redboxes online so you’ll know which box to visit and even reserve the games before you go to pick it up and 3) there are lots of Redboxes.

Games have already been stocked in many boxes, and I’m already considering heading to the Winn Dixie to pick up the new Transformers game, which I know is in stock. This is gonna inspire regular weekend marathons I can already tell. Head up to the box to get a new game on Saturday morning and then see if I can finish by Sunday night. This is gonna be great.
