Report: Bizarre Creations May Not Exist Soon

So it looks like Microsoft did not swoop in to save Bizarre after all; Develop says Activision is recommending that the company, which put out a couple financial duds this year in the form of Blur and Blood Stone 007, be shut down.

Activision has been trying to find a buyer for the studio for during a 90-day consultation period, and while the hot rumor last month was that Microsoft, for which Bizarre previously made the Project Gotham Racing games, would rescue our damsel in distress, but it appears now that is not to be.

This word comes from Activision COO Coddy Johnson, as official a source as any, and so this scenario seems pretty etched in stone at this point.

This is a sad day for the people who have made some solid titles over the years, Blur among them, and who were responsible for possibly the best XBLA game, Geometry Wars Evolved 2. Pour one out, y’all.
