Report: Grand Theft Auto 5 Is Coming To PC In Q1 2014
Grand Theft Auto 5 Petitioners, REJOICE!
Eurogamer is reporting that Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to the PC “…in the first quarter of 2014.” The report says that Rockstar and Take-Two are using a similar timeline to that from the GTA IV launch, which means the PC version would follow about eight months after the console release. Kotaku is quick to point out that the post-GTA 5 eight-month mark is May 2014 — not exactly Q1 — so there’s likely a crossed wire somewhere. The PC release will likely come in tandem with GTA 5′s debut on next-gen platforms.
The PC gamer contingent have been clamoring for a GTA 5 release on their platform since before the game was released in September. There’s even a near-600,000 signature-strong “Release GTA V on PC” petition on Change.org.
Despite the lack of a PC SKU, Grand Theft Auto 5 smashing records and raking in the dough, selling 11.25 million copies on day one alone. Once the next-gen and PC versions hit, presumably in 2014, one can only imagine how many of us will be buying second copies of Rockstar’s latest.
