Resident Evil Mercenaries VS. Hits App Store Tonight

Capcom’s multiplayer-enabled Resident Evil Mercenaries VS. on the iPhone and iPad hits the iTunes App Store tonight. The whole game is multiplayer deathmatches with Resident Evil characters like Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker.

Mercenaries VS. will go for $2.99 when it gets into the App Store at midnight. It comes with three multiplayer maps at launch — Dock, Castle and Fort — and a bunch of weapons to blast people with online. You can also take on Training and Coin Shooter modes by yourself. The multiplayer modes work both online and through a Bluetooth connection.

This Thursday has a pretty big haul of cool games coming to iTunes. World of Goo is migrating to the iPhone from the iPad. The game will be reduced to $0.99 for the first 24 hours after its release, and the existing iPad app is going universal, too — meaning if you already own World of Goo iPad, World of Goo iPhone is free to you.

Also on the docket: a Sega iPhone port of Streets of Rage 2 ($2.99) and a new edition of You Don’t Know Jack ($2.99).
