Respawn Shows Off New Ogre Mech, Teases Titanfall Beta

When I see an Ogre mech turn the corner in Titanfall, I’m running the other way — whether I’m on foot or in a mech of my own.

Respawn unveiled the new heavy armor Ogre class of mech via a new trailer (below) at the VGX awards, and it appears to be as fond of punching, stomping, and ripping off limbs as it is of shooting stuff. See for yourself:

The trailer plays as a commercial from a company called Hammond Robotics, and whaddaya know, there just so happens to be a new Hammond Robotics viral website and Twitter account. The Hammond twitter feed included this recent post:

Call the number and you’ll hear a recorded hold message that promotes the Ogre and Atlas classes, and most notably, there is mention of “upcoming live fire beta tests.” The call disconnects before more information is provided, but it certainly sounds like Respawn is teasing a Titanfall beta.

Given that Titanfall is set for release on the Xbox One and PC on March 11, we’ll likely be learning more about this beta sooner rather than later. We’ll keep you posted.
