RIFT’s Half-Birthday Celebration Goes One More Week Thanks to Irene

Last week, we told you that RIFT had kicked off their Half-Birthday Celebration. Unfortunately, many folks (more than one million) were without power thanks to Hurricane Irene. The folks over at Trion have announced that they’re sympathetic, and that they’re extending the celebration another week to let those folks be able to enjoy the festivities as well.

In this thread on the RIFT forums, a player says that he was without power and couldn’t participate. As it turns out, Trion had planned for this, adding this update to their announcement of the celebration:

We know many of you have been weathering out the storm on the east coast – so we’re keeping the subscriber bonuses turned on an extra week, you now have until September 6th to enjoy all the bonuses to XP, Guild XP, Favor, Prestige, Planarite, and dugeon & raid currencies. Have fun!

Trion has made a name for itself so far for their efforts to keep their playerbase happy. That’s a goal Executive Producer Scott Hartsman mentioned when we talked to him just before E3. This is just another example of that. So, what are you waiting for? Go get your goodies!
