Rochard Debut Trailer

Think Portal + Team Fortress 2 + some other 2D side-scroller and you have what Rochard looks like it wants to be. Recoil Games calles it a, ‘Gravity-bending puzzle-platformer.’ Did you get all that? That being said it looks kind of fun. Check out some gameplay footage in this new video as well as some new screenshots down at the bottom. You can download the video here or watch it below.

Rochard follows the story of humble astro-miner John Rochard, who accidently discovers an ancient structure hidden deep in an asteroid, thus proving mankind isn’t alone in the universe. Soon after, his team goes missing without a trace and John finds himself stranded on the asteroid and under attack by space bandits. He quickly realizes there are dangerous forces at work determined to use the discovery for their own sinister means. Using your wits, the upgradeable G-Lifter and a little bit of gravity manipulation, you’ll help John lift and maneuver heavy objects around the environment, and will eventually swing, jump and propel him huge distances throughout each level. The game constantly tests your coordination and skills as you learn to master the use of gravity, changing it at will to solve environmental puzzles, advance through each level and defeat the bad guys.
