Rock Band 3 Trophies

Harmonix plans to strengthen its stranglehold on rhythm game supremacy with the help of Rock Band 3, whose features position it as the genre’s killer app. The two-octave keyboard, the suite of user-friendly UI features, and the list of 83 brand-new songs is just the beginning.

The game’s new Pro Mode promises a direct correspondence between the notes in the song and the notes you play, thanks to full MIDI instrument support, the release of new cymbal add-ons for the drumset, and two Pro Guitar peripherals that are poised to change the paradigm forever. Mad Catz’s six-string guitar peripheral will be available when the game starts, but it’s the Rock Band Squier Stratocaster — at once a functioning electric guitar and a peripheral — that has everyone in a tizzy.

Despite these hardware-focused innovations, the game’s software still has some classic touches, like trophies. Check back soon for our list, which will be posted as soon as they are available.
