For those of us who spent an inordinate amount of time braving the harsh world of Red Dead Redemption as John Marston, Rockstar has got some excellent news. They’ve just announced a slew of new DLC that will be coming to the Western epic before the end of the year.

First up is the Legend and Killers Pack, slated to release in August. It will add 9 new multiplayer map locations, 8 new multiplayer characters (all from Red Dead Revolver), a new projectile weapon called the Tomahawk, and of course new achievements and trophies. You’ll be able to pick this one up for $9.99 on PSN, or 800 MS Points on XBox Live.

That’s pretty cool, and Rockstar’s got plenty more where that came from . Details of the other packs after the break.

Next up is the Liars and Cheats Pack. It will contain new competitive modes, new multiplayer mini-games in Free Roam, plus all of the following:

  • New multiplayer horse races, complete with mounted combat
  • Play as the heroes and villains of Red Dead Redemption, as well as 8 additional multiplayer characters

  • Introducing a new weapon: the Explosive Rifle, with associated challenges available in single-player and multiplayer gameplay
  • New achievements and trophies

Soon after that, they’ll release the Free Roam Pack, which will bring new modes, challenges and gang hideouts to the Free Roam mode, including:

  • Release date: TBA
  • Additional Free Roam challenges
  • New action areas and defensive placements
  • Posse scoring and leaderboards
  • New anti-griefing measures in Free Roam
  • Pricing: TBA

Finally, they’ll close out the year with a bang with the release of the Undead Nightmare Pack, which will see graveyards and ghost towns come to life, and will include:

  • Release date: TBA
  • Brand new single-player adventure, challenges and quests
  • 8 new multiplayer zombie characters
  • Additional animals unleashed in the world
