Rockstar Games Founders To Be Inducted To AIAS Hall Of Fame
The 17th annual DICE Awards take place on February 6th, and this year’s Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences honorees are all from Rockstar Games.
Sam and Dan Houser, who co-founded Rockstar Games in 1998, will be inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame, as will Rockstar North President Leslie Benzies. Sam Houser, who servers as Rockstar’s President, has produced and directed every GTA game since Grand Theft Auto III. Dan Houser, Rockstar’s Vice President, has produced and written many of Rockstar’s games, including the lion’s share of the GTA franchise, Max Payne 3, and Red Dead Redemption. Leslie Benzies serves as the President of Scotland’s Rockstar North, and he’s been involved with every GTA game since Grand Theft Auto III.
In a recent earnings call, Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar revealed that Grand Theft Auto 5, the studio’s latest, has sold-in 32.5 million copies worldwide (sold-in meaning copies sold to retailers, not to consumers).
The 17th annual DICE Awards take place on February 6th, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
