Rockstar: Max Payne 3 Won’t Use Games For Windows Live

Just in case you’re curious about how PC Gamers will be getting their hands on Max Payne 3, you can check one option off the list. In a tweet today, Rockstar confirmed they won’t be using Microsoft’s unpopular attempt to compete with Steam. “No, Max Payne 3 for PC will not use Games for Windows Live,” Rockstar said.

Games For Windows Live has not met with what one could call a stellar reception. Opposition in some quarters is so intense that gamers have actually taken to petitioning Namco-Bandai not to use if for the PC version of Dark Souls. No Doubt Rockstar is well aware of the service’s problems. And since we can absolutely rule out Origin, it looks like it’s going to be Steam all the way. And I have no problem with that at all.

Prepare your painkillers, the Payne is back for a third session of shoot-dodging. Grab your pistols, join our text and video walkthrough and you might just survive.
