Rumor: Bungie and Rare Announcing New Games Next Week?

Ever since Bungie flew away from Microsoft’s nest, fans have been wondering just what the studio is up to these days. Well, they may soon get their answer since rumor now has it that they’ll be announcing their latest game next week. This news comes from an industry insider that got in touch with Gamer.tm to drop this juicy bit of info. Unfortunately, that person couldn’t confirm just what sort of game it would be (i.e. “Halo 4″ or not); only that the unveiling would take place at an event in Europe this following week. That same source also revealed that Rare is apparently announcing their next game at around the same time.

So to recap: next week, two big studios, two big game announcements. Unless maybe the two companies have joined forces to make Perfect Dark: Secret Agent Master Chief? I would so buy that.

Won’t be a Halo 4 since Microsoft owns it completely. I’m hoping for a Marathon 3!

:mrgreen: Come on, let it be Ecco! (For those of you who don’t know, the story’s like Halo, but underwater… and you play as a dolphin… and there’s time travel…

If its halo 4 i will personally burn their studio to the ground. Most epic fail game in the history of gaming. I wouldn’t mind to see the studio go back to PC and make Ecco (IMO unbeatable) with the cryengine engine and rub my belly very softly.

Duddee, the most epic fail game in the history of gaming is actually the Metal Gear Solid series. Terrible attempt at making a stealth game.

“Viva PiƱata – Combat Evolved”

I could agree with that one Serio, console only exclusives seem to be on the top of the fail chart. lawl @ ikiddo.

I thought the most epic fail in gaming history was ET?
I guess franchises that sell millions and the fourth installment which received a perfect 10 from ign constitutes a fail these days, hmmmmm?

Personally, I really hope its not Halo 4, despite Halo being primarily owned by Microsoft in the first place. However, if it is Halo 4, I think I’ll probably shave my head, cry a little, whine some more and burn other people alive. Oh the joys of a let down! :neutral:

Skateman, you do make a point. But the halo series has seriously gone way too far. I thought Halo 1 was pretty cool, i was slightly young at the time and it was something new. Now several years later you have a 4th game of the seemingly same everything and little kids running around saying Halo is the best game ever while trying to aim with a joystick and saying they pwnzor noobz. The game is a perfect example of a awful game that attracts newcomers and those under the age of 10. Cod4 seems to be bringing the same mentality. Joystick + console + spraying everything + 20 bullets for a kill + some horrid graphcs. That sounds like a fun game. Sorry to rant on an irrelevant thread… but the game is just so bad =|.

Fanboys are a joke!

Over a hundred million dollars in sales = most epic fail game in the history of gaming? :roll:
It is your right Duddee to not like the game and it’s multiple flaws but you cannot call it an epic fail. It has run it’s course maybe, but it is certainly not a failure. With all it’s features, Halo gives you more bang for your buck than most games. I agree there are many stupid annoying kids playing the game but that is not Bungie’s fault.
That being said, what does it matter if they are making Halo4? If you like the series, this is good news. If you don’t like the series, nobody is forcing you to buy and play it.
Besides, don’t anybody kid themselves. Bungie will sooner or later make a Halo4. They won’t give up on such a “cash cow” and they will milk it until it’s dry.

wow umm halo was just overrated in my opinion, other than that, its just another shooter. metal gear solid brings a new aspect to the shooter series, stealth and stealth kills. with this you could play the game over and over again without getting bored because the npcs would react differntly and in metal gear solid 4 the maps are so huge u could find like 20 differnt ways to do each mission

Fanboys are a Joke;

Well, hyped games seem to have that effect. Halo 3 for example sold for 300 million dollars in the first week of it’s release

asdf;

Alot of games actually allow you to do that. MGS is far too much story, not enough gameplay, in my opinion. I prefer the Splinter Cell series. MGS may have created the stealth genre, but Splinter Cell perfected it(And later Assassin’s Creed ruined it).
