Rumor: Microsoft Replacing 20GB Xbox 360 with 60GB Model

xbox360-logo-xonly.jpgSince the Xbox 360 Core unit was unceremoniously dumped by Microsoft, the standard console SKU from the company has been the 20GB version. But that may all change in the coming months. Rumor has it that Microsoft is looking to upgrade all their future systems with a 60GB hard drive. In fact, they may be looking to have the new model ready to go by the end of their financial year. Guess the Xbox Live Marketplace is doing pretty good these days (I know my own hard drive is almost full to the brim). With the other rumors of a new SKU in the works as well as talks with Sony about an internal Blu-Ray drive, one has to wonder just how big of a change Microsoft is looking at.

“Since the Xbox 360 Core unit was unceremoniously dumped”

I thought it was just renamed the ‘Arcade’?

this explains the euro price drop, and I’m willing to bet they’ll probably drop the price here too (if just to get rid of excess stock).
