Rumor: Remedy Working on Alan Wake: Night Springs for XBLA

Remedy Entertainment confirmed earlier this month that it is indeed working on a new Alan Wake title. Now there’s a rumor that the new game is called Alan Wake: Night Springs, and it’ll be available on Xbox Live Arcade.

The report comes from a tip leaded to XBLAFans. That outlet says they’ve even seen screens from the title, and they trust the anonymous benefactor who leaked the information.

That’s all we know so far, but Night Springs could definitely be an interesting direction for the next Alan Wake installment, which Remedy told Eurogamer is not Alan Wake 2 or additional DLC for the title. In the original Alan Wake, Night Springs was a dark Twilight Zone-like show you could watch on TVs during the game. They were generally spooky and weird, like the Twilight Zone, but lacked in general the sometimes uplifting storylines that show could carry.

If Night Springs is, in fact, the basis of the next Alan Wake title, prepare to see me walking around, grinning like mad. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
