Rumor: Valve’s Next Secret Game Is New Counter-Strike

The prevailing rumor all over eSports today is that Valve is working on a new Counter-strike game. First, there’s the word that Craig “Torbull” Levine went to Valve to help work on the new game, called Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Then, there’s the constant rumbling on the eSports Facebook page. An then there’s this tweet from ESL’s Bastian Vieser:

Just spend all day playing the new Counterstrike Global Offensive #CSGO at the #Valve HQ ! God I love my job.. oh and yeah… its that good!

I don’t know if this is some massive prank by people at eSports, but it sounds plausible. This isn’t, after all, the first time I’ve heard murmurings of a new Counter-Strike game.

If this is so, this would be the second of Valve’s three surprises¬†for the year.
