Saints Row 4 Originally Included a Bollywood Dance Sequence

Saints Row 4 is an ambitious game, offering a wide open world for players to play around in, filled with a variety of activities that promise dozens of hours of gameplay. It comes as no surprise then that some of the game’s bigger ideas had to be cut.

Speaking at a panel at Comic Con, Volition’s Creative Director Steve Jaros said that they had originally planned for a Bollywood song and dance number at the end of the game.

“It was on our schedule,” Jaros said during the Saints Row Super Dangerous Wub Wub Panel (via Polygon), “and we were trying to do it the right way,” with Volition looking at choreography and “the right Bollywood song” to license.

Jaros said that the plan had to be scrapped after the Saints Row 4 motion capture team figured out the cost and complexity of adding the sequence. “Time kills jokes, is what it boils down to,” said Jaros.

“The stars didn’t line up,” Jaros said, but told Comic-Con attendees “the spirit of the Bollywood dance number happens [at the end] and it is poetry in motion. It is so good.”

Shame. We could have done with a break from beating men dressed as hot dogs to death with a giant purple dildo.
