See Splash Damage’s Dirty Bomb in Action (TRAILER)

Splash Damage’s upcoming free-to-play multiplayer shooter Dirty Bomb is looking more and more like a spiritual successor to its maligned but fun Brink — but probably quite a bit darker in tone.

We’ve only heard a little about Dirty Bomb up to now, but Splash Damage and publisher Warchest have just put out an alpha gameplay footage trailer that looks pretty slick. Find it below, and note the similarities between Brink.

First off, the game type we’re seeing is clearly objective-based — like Brink before it, your job will be to escort a vehicle through a level (in this case, London), while protecting it from attackers and clearing things out of its way.

We can also hear in the radio voice-over some mentions of classes: engineers for planting bombs to clear barricades, for one. We also see some defibrillator-wielding players ave their teammates. We’ll have to wait to draw more conclusions, but as someone who liked Brink despite its flaws, this could be cool.
