Seeds Turns Into Platinum Games

okami-screen.jpg

Seeds, the development studio comprised of many former Clover and Capcom staffers, has announced a partnership with ODD Corporation and a new name – Platinum Games. Jaw-droppingly original, I know.

While little is known about the deal outside of the name change; the announcement came way of Seeds’ official website. Seeds is loved by many in the game community, as much of its staff previously worked for Clover, the team behind the critically acclaimed Okami. The company was formed earlier this year by big names, including former Clover CEO Atsushi Inaba, Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya, and Resident Evil creator Shinki Mikami. This came in the wake of Clover’s closing, which was given almost no explanation by Capcom.

Let’s just hope this new deal with ODD will help Platinum Games continue to make original games like Okami. And hopefully ones with better names than Platinum Games.

I was under the impression that Seed totaly closed down and most of the DEV team left….Thus why Okami is considered their last GEM of a game…
