Yes, you got a week off over the holidays, but Adam Sessler has returned this week to take a look back at 2007. He also peeks ahead to 2008. In his inimitable style, Adam rants about the crush of good games we saw at the end of 2008, and speculates that 2008 may avoid some of that.
This is a topic I’ve mentioned before, but it looks like publishers are finally starting to get it. You can’t cram all your good games into the last 3 months of the year anymore. Sure, when there was only one console and PC games, it was plausible. These days, with the plethora of great games for every platform, it just isn’t feasible. Sure, some of the early anticipated releases of 2008 are games that were pushed back from 2007 (Grand Theft Auto 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4), but there are still a lot of good games on the horizon. If we can get them released throughout the year, then 2008 could indeed shape up to be a better year for gaming than 2007.
Thanks, G4 TV!
