Shadowrun Returns Is A Go Thanks To Kickstarter Drive

Another day, another astonishing Kickstarter success that is doing for video-gaming what DVD sales did for people who didn’t hate good television by providing actual proof of the desire of fans to see projects long written off or canceled make a comeback. Remember a few weeks ago when Harebrained Studios established a Kickstarter page for a proposed revival of the Shadowrun series to be called ‘Shadowrun Returns’? Congratulations erryone: It worked.

The original goal to get the project approved: raise $400,000 by April 29. They managed to raise $1,895,772. Harebrained Studios is obviously very pleased with the game, noting in a statement to their website, “A-freaking-mazing! Wowsers! Bibbidy-bobbidy-boo! We are so happy to be associated with such a wonderful community.” I am happy for them, because this means I’ll get to play a new Shadowrun game.

Here’s the video the team recorded to say thanks.
