Shovel Knight Kickstarter Fully Funded, Stretch Goals Announced

The Shovel Knight Kickstarter has managed to reach its $75,000 objective. That means the platformer is fully funded and will be getting a release, assuming everything goes to plan.

Since reaching their goal, the developers at Yacht Club Games have announced stretch goals for the Kickstarter to add things such as a music player, achievements, a new game+ mode, a Linux/Mac version, and even a four-player battle mode. Here’s what that would entail:

We’ve talked a ton about multiplayer for Shovel Knight. While full-on multiplayer is out of the scope of this project, we could totally do 4 player couch co-op battles! Imagine playing as Shovel Knight ( or any of the extra playable knights ) and duking it out in the arena! Several modes would be ideal:

· Cash collecting, where you fight for treasure that appears in the level. Knock your buddy to make gems fall out and collect them!

· Racing, where all players would have to make their way to the end of a stage

· Last man standing, where the only goal is to slash mercilessly… to the bitter end!

The Shovel Knight Kickstarter has roughly 11 days to go before it ends, so head on over to the project page and increase your pledge if you’d like to see them add more to the game.
