Skullgirls Is Coming To the PC, Includes Extended Multiplayer Features

For the longest time, it didn’t look like the independently developed fighting game Skullgirls was ever going to get released on the PC.

The game’s developer, Autumn Games, has since announced on the game’s official blog that they’ve found a publisher to release Skullgirls on the PC—Marvelous AQL. According to the developer, Skullgirls will be released on “pretty much every digital distribution platform,” stating that it will get a Steam release. It will also be available on Origin, GameStop, GameFly, and GamersGate.

In addition to the game’s availability on the PC, the new version will come with a number of new features for the platform, including expanded multiplayer functionality such as lobbies. Such features are absent on the game’s console versions.

“We presented Marvelous with two options: a relatively quick port that would mirror the feature set of the console releases, and a slower port with expanded multiplayer functionality such as lobbies. Marvelous AQL has graciously opted for the second option.”

Autumn Games intends to hold a public beta before the game’s release just before summer.
