Beginning Alchemy Guide

  1. Crafting with alchemy can result in some seriously powerful potions and poisons that can both bolster your skills or weaken your enemies.
  2. Alchemy requires experimentation. To start, you’ll need ingredients and an Alchemy Lab. You have to experiment, combine experiments to discover their effects and what potions you can make.
  3. Failing to discover anything new while experimenting at an Alchemy Lab will still net you Alchemy experience.
  4. Alchemy involves a three step process; finding ingredients, learning their effects, and combining these ingredients at an Alchemy Lab.
  5. Learning the effects of ingredients requires either eating the ingredient, or combining the ingredient in an attempt to create a potion.
  6. Or, just following our Potion recipe list below. There are lots more potions available to make and experiment with, so keep collecting ingredients!

Thank you for this. While I do enjoy the little rush I get from discovering an effect when I am “experimenting”, combining various ingredients, this guide is invaluable. It is especially so when I just need to make some health potions, etc., and don’t want to spend time mucking about with the *trial and error* method.

Many, many thanks.

@punky you can get a horse for no cost at all using the same method as buying a house and furnishings, exit the conversation before the seller removes the the cost of the horse and quickly put all your gold in a near by container after the seller tells you which horse is yours just retrieve your gold and ride off, you may want to save before you attempt this as it does take a few attempts to get right

STEP ONE: in Riften there is the guy who say the briars stole his horse exept his quest
STEP TWO: go to the briar lodge kill the people there get the certificate of ownership
STEP THREE: get on frost (the horse) ride to the guy (he is standind outside of Riften) then talk to him
STEP FOUR: after talking to him there should be and option to say if i kill you i get the horse do that kill him then the horse is your´s then search him and take his 700 septims
