Skyrim DLC Hitting Xbox Live First, Just Like with Call of Duty: Black Ops

Yup, there will be The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC. And Bethesda already knows it. And it has already signed an exclusivity deal with Microsoft to bring that DLC to Xbox Live before it hits anywhere else.

We’ve also learned from the announcement that Skyrim has two DLC packages in the works, at least, and those two will be Xbox Live-exclusive for their first 30 days of existence. After that, the DLC will show up on PC and Playstation 3, the press release states.

Microsoft had the same deal with Activision for DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Bethesda’s is substantially shorter, however, covering only two DLC packs. We’ll have to wait and see how many there actually are — hopefully we’ll know more about that by the time Skyrim’s Nov. 11 release rolls around.

Who cares.

Oct and Nov is jammed pack full of Game of The Year potentials we’ll all be too busy just catching up. It’ll probably be March 2012 before I even get close to finishing Skyrim.

If Microsoft wants to pay $$$ for an incentive that won’t be much of motivation or discouragement to anyone then good for them. They have too much money and good for Bethesda for making some extra easy peasy money.

Not to be fanboyish but the PC version will have 20 times the content in a month.
