The Temple of Miraak
You will hear a woman named Frea yelling at the workers around the stone in the temple, approach and speak with her. She will reveal that she is also searching for answers in the Temple of Miraak and you agree that you need to find the source of Miraak’s power.
Cultists will attack. Defeat the Cultists with Frea and descend the spiral ramp around the Tree Stone to find the doorway into the Temple of Miraak.
Frea will suggest checking the nearby rooms for supplies and lead you to them. There are several health potions you may gather in one room and various poisons in another.
After descending further and fighting another pair of Cultists you will come across a large room with hanging cages. Frea will stop to comment on this, and then say she sees something above. She will dash to some stairs that lead upward, but the route is blocked.
Circle to the other side of the room. Draugr will emerge from the nearby tombs and Cultists will attack from the stairway below. Defeat these enemies and follow the stairway down, leading to a gate with a simple lever and into a crypt.
Work your way through the crypt and its Draugr inhabitants, many of which are Draugr Deathlords.
You will quickly come across a hallway with a spike wall trap which is triggered by a pressure plate. There are also two battering rams triggered by pressure plates, creating an extremely dangerous intersection of tunnel halls. Several Draugr will attack in this area and trigger the traps as they do so, which can make your life difficult if you need to be in melee range.
The two routes from the trap intersection meet up at an open door which is protected by a pressure plate triggered flame thrower. Once through the door Frea will see that the tunnel is filled with swinging blades and declare she will wait for you as she cannot make it through.
Make your way through the swinging blades and pull the lever at the other end. This will open a spear gate and deactivate the swinging blades so Frea may follow you again.
Proceeding onwards you will find a room with a locked door, and with little searching a lever can be found to open it and reveal the final room.
Drawbridges will fall into place and bone chimes will alert the Master Cultist and Draugr to your presence. Defeat them – while being mindful of pressure plate traps which trigger darts – and proceed to the door leading to the Temple of Miraak Sanctum
The Temple of Miraak Sanctum continues the theme of traps, Draugr, and a Cultist ambush – which includes a Master Cultist. Moving onward you will arrive at a room with a wall of Draugr tombs and find your Strength, the first word of the Dragon Aspect shout.
The Draugr will emerge from their tombs, including one called Gatekeeper, who carries the Temple of Miraak key. The tomb the Gatekeeper emerged from contains an Iron Door you will use the key to unlock, leading to another Iron Door it unlocks.
Continuing through, Frea will announcing you’ve come upon a dead end and the she will look in the dining room. Stand at the Alchemy Lab and turn to your right to find a handle which will open a passage in the dining room.
You will continue through the hidden passage and series of doors which require lever pulling until you reach a grand stairway with decorative statues. Here there will be rumbling and falling rocks followed by Skeletons & Draugr, with a Draugr Death Overlord at the top of the stairway.
Through the doorway at the top of the stairs will lead you down a passage to a room with The Black Book on a pedestal.
Read the Black Book, which will take you to a cutscene in a different realm, where Miraak speaks to you and claims he will return soon.
After the cutscene ends, speak with Frea to complete The Temple of Miraak quest.
