Easy Gold Glitch Instructions

NOTE: Only verified on PC versions of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

  1. Find a vendor, any vendor will do. As long as you can sell your items to them, and they have cash available.
  2. Bring up one of the vendor’s menus; weapons, apparel, food, potions, any of the menus will work.
  3. Now, scroll down the left menu to highlight your name. Do not click on it, just highlight it while the vendor’s menu for weapons, food, potions, etc. is still up and ready for you to purchase their items.
  4. Leave your mouse cursor over your name, then hold right-click and drag the cursor over to the vendor buying menu to the right, then release the mouse button.
  5. You should be able to browse the shop keeper’s purchase menu while your name is still highlighted. Now, click to buy anything — anything at all will do. The item won’t be added to your inventory, but the gold amount from the vendor will transfer over to you.
  6. Just keep clicking the item until the vendor’s gold stash is empty. Then move on to another vendor and pull the same trick.

    will this anyway for XBOX?

    On November 16, 2011 at 4:03 pm

This doesn’t work. You can’t highlight your name while you have the vendor menu open.

    On November 16, 2011 at 7:05 pm

    fake and !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    On November 16, 2011 at 7:16 pm

Not fake and . I just did it. As clarification:

    1) Click on the vendor’s supply. Once you can see the items the vendor is selling, look at them.

    2) Use your mouse scrollwheel to move YOUR NAME to the pointy arrow thing. Your own name will be tall.

    3) Highlight your name with your mouse. Begin right clicking on your name, drag your mouse over to THE ITEM you are going to use this with

    4) Release the right mouse button. DO NOT HIGHLIGHT ANY OTHER ITEM. Press E until the vendor runs out of gold…

Hey guys, note that this is only verified on the PC version of Skyrim.

“NOTE: Only verified on PC versions of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.”

    On November 16, 2011 at 10:40 pm

It works for me just fine on pc

    On November 16, 2011 at 10:43 pm

easiest way (for me at least) to do this is: open any of the npc’s items for sale tab( i usually just click his name to get up all) then u hover ur mouse on ur own name till it lights up, hold down right mouse button and while holding it down hover over any of the npc’s items and click E button. You will notice his gold gets lower while u dont actually sell anything…

    On November 17, 2011 at 7:20 am

This is also a really easy way to get your speech to 100. when the shopkeeper has no gold left you can keep mashing E accepting a 0 gold transaction for speech points levels quite quickly and a more reiable speech glitch then the black-briar meadry one.

    On November 17, 2011 at 8:08 am

If you choose items worth small amounts to take their gold, it also increases speechcraft fairly fast. I found this speechcraft method less tedious than the other glitch for it.

    On November 17, 2011 at 8:18 am

is there a point to doing this on the PC? lol just open the console and additem

    On November 17, 2011 at 1:20 pm

If you’re having trouble highlighting your name after opening the vendor menu…then try opening a vendor menu with the right arrow key AND mouse scroll down the left most menu at the same time. Enjoy!

    On November 18, 2011 at 2:23 am

Awesome. Ive already increased all my skills to 100 via a simple “mouseclick tool” that just fires up a spell every 5 seconds.(hint)

and now I can buy the armor that I live via these steps.

    On November 19, 2011 at 11:50 am

isnt it kinda pointless since if ur on the PC, you can just use console commands to get anything you want, including skill?

    On November 20, 2011 at 9:55 pm

@bobby I read somewhere if you use any console cheats you cannot unlock achievements anymore. This is a way around that along with any other ‘glitch’ way of skilling, making gold.

    On November 21, 2011 at 7:19 pm

    Still works after today’s update.

    On November 21, 2011 at 10:06 pm

I had success trying things this way.
Open store menu to top category list.
Click and fiddle with mouse until the menu will scroll using wheel.
Choose a category a couple above your name.
    Press Right while scrolling down.
Any scroll into your side of the list will work.
All that right-click and drag is BS
You will see the list with your name or a category on your side highlighted, but the second menu lists items from vendor’s inventory.
    Using Up/Down select an item.
Right Click Hold on your selected item, then Left Click (again on the item) and repeat.

    On November 24, 2011 at 2:43 am

You can also increase speechcraft very easily this way just keep selling his stuff to him even if vendor has 0 gold.

    On November 24, 2011 at 10:12 am

AL, you say : « I read somewhere if you use any console cheats you cannot unlock achievements anymore. »

Are you sure? Myself I had to use the console so as to do a “setstage” for a quest that had a bug, there was no other way around as was mentioned on the Bethesda forum and wiki. Would this mean that most gamers will have their achievements blocked? By the way, what are those “achievements” ? I’m asking because I haven’t noticed anything odd so far in the game, I can still progress “normally” throughout the constellation trees.

    On November 26, 2011 at 1:14 pm

This does work however I had a problem with the game crashing after attempting to do this more than once. Saving the game between “purchases” resolved the crashing issue for me.

    On November 28, 2011 at 6:10 pm

If you’re going to glitch and cheat the game for free gold, just do it the more efficient and easy way and open your console command (~), and type in:

player.additem 0000000f ## (Replace ## with the amount of gold you want to gain).

    On December 1, 2011 at 6:57 am

Can Anyone confirm if this still works from today? Doesn’t seem to be working for me anymore.

    On December 3, 2011 at 6:14 am

    Anoter exploit.

    Location – Sigthtless Pit
    Platform – Ps3

Look at the hut outside the pit

Notice a ridge above it. Head around and up on that ridge. There’s an altar that once you take from the altar the skeletons come to life.

Once they are all dead. You will notice a book on one of them.

Every time you look at the corpse (loot) you will see another book appear.

I looked at the corpse and exited and repeated. The book stacked over and over on the corpse.

I looted approximately 500 books and sold them to vendors acrosss the map.
At my skill each book provided 20g each for a total of 10,000.

    On December 30, 2011 at 2:19 am

    It dosen’t work :(

    On January 2, 2012 at 7:18 am

There is another way to get a lot of gold on any consle. The good old book trick its when u go to get the book “Doors to Oblivion” in a tomb. pick up the book then kill all the skeletons. search the skeleton that came to life first(the one that was hanging) and get all the items. Then the book reappears(u can do this unlimited)and each book is worth $50.(U may have to do this offline, or u may got an update that got rid of it).

    On January 8, 2012 at 12:21 pm

This used to work all the time for me last month, doesn’t anymore though :(

    On January 10, 2012 at 5:13 pm

    Works perfectly, thanks from Brazil!

    On January 28, 2012 at 2:51 pm

    I love skyrim :) )

    On February 6, 2012 at 1:38 pm

have you tried the book glich, i think this only works for xbox but anyway what you need to do is…
    1. discover mount anthor near winterhold.
    2. kill the dragon.
    3. optional-learn word of power.
    4. on your compass you should see two cave icons, travel to the one thats closest to the sea.
    5. on your way there you should run into some ruins with some dead skellingtons around it and one on a stone table or stood next to it.
    6. when they all come to life kill them and then search the one that was on the stone table.
    7. you will know your searching the right one when you see a book called the doors of oblivian, but dont take it.
    8. search him then go back, then search him agian and you will notice he now has two books, keep doing this until you can carry no more.
    9. sell them, 30gold each!
    10. hurray, you can do this many times because the skellington is always there
    11. :) :) :) :) :)
