How to Earn Legendary Skills

When a skill has been raised to 100, it can be reset into a “Legendary” skill.

Setting a skill to “Legendary” will revert it to novice level (15). A dragon symbol will appear beneath the skill, with a number to the right showing how many times it been reset.

Legendary skills have no additional benefits. They can be raised, as normal, from 15 to 100 and will allow the Dragonborn to continue to level up with no restrictions.

Skills can be maximized, then reset an infinite number of times.

All previously used perk points are refunded, and new skill points can be earned. Following this method, all perks can be purchased in all skills — if you’ve got the patience.

The Benefits of Legendary Skills

  • Legendary skills have no special bonuses, but there are benefits to resetting skills. Perk points are redistributed, allowing the Dragonborn to explore new paths for their Legendary skill.
  • Unwanted skills can be ignored. Previously, once a skill was maxed-out, Dragonborn would need to focus on other skills to continue to gain levels. That is no long the case.
  • Primary skills can now be leveled exclusively, increasing the Dragonborn’s overall level.
  • There is a downside. Resetting important skills for combat can result in very difficult patches while the Dragonborn earns back their skill from Novice to Master.

If you level up past 81 do you still get new perk points?

@lol,

Yep! All previous perk points are refunded, and new perk points can be gained by leveling up as normal.

How do you reset the skill? I have multiple skills at 100 and no matter what I do, they don’t reset. Is this just for PC players. I’m on PS3

@Jessica H.:

Hmm, PS3 players should be able to reset their skills just like PC people. Have you downloaded patch 1.9 on your system?
