Factions are where you want to be in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The providers of optional quest chains with great rewards and plenty of things to purchase, you’ll want to get in with the factions early. The Companions are fighters, and they value strength and skill on the battlefield. With them, you’ll take on some combat-oriented quests. They’re also one of the first factions you’ll be able to meet in Skyrim.

How To Join The Companions
- In Whiterun, there’s a building called Jorrvaskr. Look east of Dragonsreach.
- Inside the building, enter the basement to speak with Kodlak. He’ll offer the “Take Up Arms” quest.
- Complete his quest, and you’ll join the Companions where more quests await.

Hey, just thought i would mention that you might be able to bug this quest if you have the contract to kill the guy your supposed to intimidate. you pretty much have to kill him if you have both quests at same time.

im in the dark brother but also want to join the companions at the same time. I was told that in oblivion the two guild clash thus making you choose between them. I just want to know is this the same case in skyrim ?

@123, you can be in any and all factions. Except for Stormcloak or Imperial. You have to choose one or the other.
If you have a contract to kill the guy you have to intimidate, then you must first intimidate him. Then, wait until the contract is alone/ asleep, and kill him. If you are in the Theives Guild already, you can pay off the guards to ignore you. If you are not, make sure you have atleast 1000 gold if the guards catch you. Furthermore, before you do kill the contract, talk to Farkas after you have intimidated.

Marvericksaint go to the jarl of whiteruns home/palace and turn to the long table at the right she will be sitting beside a small child which you might be able to play with!

on xbox 360 If you kill the bandits in Valtheim Keep you can not finish the quest trouble in skyrim. If anyone has a solution. Please let me know. Thank You

Hello
I was joined the companions.
but one day,the”silverhands”went to the “Jorrvaskr” and killed “Kodlak whitemane”.
after that,companions never gave me a main quest,and just gave me not main quests.
now I can’t continue their main quest.
what am I must to do?
