Skyrim Is Quite the Hit on Steam (FACTS)

Yesterday, we learned that Skyrim had earned $650 million in sales. Today, we learn that Skyrim is the fastest selling title ever on Steam.

Despite the fact that Bethesda claimed that the PC version of the game outsold everything else by at least three to one in November, I still find myself surprised by this news. It’s one thing to be really popular; it’s another thing to be one of the most popular ever. And that’s what Skyrim is now, at least on the PC.

So here’s a toast to Bethesda for making a game that everyone wants to play. Good work, guys and ladies.

Yay! Of course the fact that it doesn’t seem to work on some consoles might have something to do with the PC bias, but yay! It’s nice when my platform gets a little love, which seems to be largely lacking these days.

PC version is more easily mod-able and more compatible with cheats. It shouldn’t surprise everyone that most people bought the PC version (including me).

Yes, easily moddable is good for PC and one of the things I enjoy about Elder Scrolls, Fallout 3+ and Dragon Age Origins. Heck there are lots of mods for DA2 and never had the mod kit come out. Same with Skyrim, I guess.
