Outrunning the police is surprisingly difficult in Sleeping Dogs. The cops can and will put you down, like a dog, so it’s never a good idea to tempt their wrath in Hong Kong. That is, unless you’re going for this achievement that tasks you with popping the tires of a police car. It’s not an easy task, and it might take a few tries, but we’ve got a few tips that’ll hopefully make your life of crime easier.

Sharpshooter (25 points / Bronze): Shoot out a cop’s tires while fleeing in a police chase.
Sharpshooter Achievement Guide
On-Foot Method (Harder):
While on foot, start a fight with any cop on the street. Knock him out with some attacks, and pick up the gun he drops. Back-up will arrive.
Cops will murder you fast in Sleeping Dogs, so try to do this with cover in mind.
You’ll have to be a good shoot. Use the gun to shoot out the oncoming cop car’s tire. It only has to be one, but you won’t have much time to do it. Make sure you hit the car’s tire while it’s driving. If you shoot it out while parked, it won’t count toward the achievement.
Driving Method (Easier):
If you’re in a car instead, you can pull off this achievement an easier way. You’ll need a gun and a car to begin.
While driving, initiate a police chase. Try crashing into a cop’s car.
When the chase begins, lean out the side of your car with [LB] or [L1] to aim your gun. This will make time slow down, giving you more time to line up your shots.
Return to driving, and wait for a good time to lean out and fire if you’re having trouble. Making quick turns or circling around a cop’s car will expose their times better and give you a better shot.
