Slender Follow-up Coming With Deeper Gameplay, Story
The creator of Slender: The Eight Pages is working on a follow-up to the short indie title that’ll be a much more complete, deeper and more terrifying experience.
According to a teaser site, the new game will be called Slender: The Arrival, and is a joint venture between Mark J. Hadley of Parsec Productions, the creator of the original Slender title, and Blue Isle Studios. The new game will have better graphics, more scares, and more involved gameplay, according to the teaser site.
It’ll also feature a fuller storyline, of which there was little in the original Unity alpha release of Slender: The Eight Pages. In that game, players were locked into a park-like outdoor area at night and tasked with finding eight notebook pages from different locations there. Meanwhile, the player is pursued by an entity that teleports, grows closer the more pages are discovered, and at which the player can’t even look for long, much less fight. It’s a truly scary game.
Slender: The Arrival keeps a lot of that core gameplay experience. “With more levels, improved visuals, and an engaging storyline, the commercial release takes Slender to all new heights,” the teaser page states.
The game is coming to the PC, but that’s all we know about it so far. Here’s another image, though.
