Slender might be terrifying because of it’s minimalist presentation, but that doesn’t mean indie dev Parsec Productions didn’t include a few secret bells and whistles onto their explosively internet famous horror game. If you’re able to collect all eight pages, you’ll unlock several new modes that alter the game in small but important ways. Learn how to unlock each of these modes, and what they change in our list below.

Secret Modes & Unlockables

Daytime Mode

  • How To Unlock: Find all 8 Pages in the regular game mode.
  • Changes the game from night to daytime, making completion easier. The brighter environment means you won’t need the flashlight, which attracts the Slender Man more when used.
  • You’ll also be able to watch Slender Man stalk you the entire time. Have fun!

Marble Hornets Mode

  • How To Unlock: Find all 8 Pages in the regular game mode.
  • Based on the Youtube series Marble Hornets, this mode portrays the game as a found video tape.
  • The page counter is removed, as is the page collection sound effect. Static borders are added to the screen, and your visibility is decreased. You’ll also have to contend with new page locations.

20$ Mode (Removed in v0.9.7)

  • How to Unlock: Complete Daytime Mode
  • In this Easter Egg mode, the game is identical to the regular mode save for one change.
  • Every time you spot Slender Man, you’ll hear a sound clip from the song “Gimme 20 Dollars” by Ron Browz instead of the usual static. Slender Man just wants his 20 dollars.

I found a way to unlock the daylight and the other modes even before beating the game the first time. Honestly, I find it helps a great deal to understand the locations first before limiting out the sun.

Just type Regedit to edit the registry. Once open, do a search for “Slender” and keep hitting F3 until you find the lines that talk about daylight mode and so on. When you see that, change the value of the (0) to (1) and by doing that, you have those modes unlocked.

Warning though, don’t mess around with other, just the game Slender as you can really hurt your system messing with areas you shouldn’t be in.

I am currently wondering how to play daytime and $20 mode at once because many people on the internet are using it, this makes me feel left out. Anyone who does know how to do this, please tell me. Thanks, and bye for now. :)

@Rubeus,

The answer is actually pretty simple! Both modes can be activated, but only in version 9.4 of the game. Then, if you don’t want to do all the work of unlocking them, try to download an “unlocker”, a special modification that will immediately make both modes available from start-up.

Just type in “slender 20$ mode unlocker” on Google, and you should find some Google results near the top. If you click a youtube video, make sure it says [Download Link] in the title, and look in the description for a link. As always, be careful when downloading from unauthorized/weird sources.

Let us know if that helps!
