Solutions to the Xbox 360's Achievement Woes

achievementfix1.jpg

While the Xbox 360′s innovation of a Gamerscore and Achievements were developed with good intentions, the whole system is not without its lack of problems. They were meant to prolong the life of a game, but somewhere along the line, they started becoming more of a detriment to the overall gaming experience. I’m sure most people on Xbox Live have encountered either an achievement whore trying to accomplish some odd goal at the expense of everyone else’s gameplay experience — or at least an achievement that was impossible to get from the start. Luckily, these problems are not unfixable. In fact, GameTap has put together a list of some recurring problems with Achievements along with some solutions to them. Most of the solutions really just require the developers to put a little more thought into the achievements they include in a game. Still it’s an interesting read for anyone who’s dealt with the achievement system (i.e. just aobut everyone with an Xbox 360). You can check out the article by clicking the link below.

I dont like the idea of simple easy to get achievements. Turning it into junior kindergarden would water it down to the point of uselessness. This same field of thought as… No we dont keep score the kids just play and have fun. I have no interest in what a bunch of leftys have to say about my games :(
