Players Claiming Some Retailers Over-Sold Borderlands 2

Players on the Gearbox forums are complaining that some retailers over-sold Borderlands 2, and as such are not honoring and even cancelling pre-orders — causing some to lose their “Premiere Club” access.

You can check out the Gearbox Forums to see what’s going on. It’s all anecdotal at this point, but it sounds like more than one retailer, including GameStop and HMV in the UK.

According to one person’s story, the lack of Borderlands 2 stock is causing some of those orders to get canceled, and since he’s now re-ordering the game after launch, he loses out on the ability to get into the “Premiere Club” and cash in on the free stuff that would have entailed, including the Mechromancer DLC character being released next month.

What has been the experience for you guys? Struggling with pre-orders? Let us know in the comments. Meanwhile, if you’re having trouble with Premiere Club content for your Steam version, you might find help here.
