Sony Announces Datura For Playstation 3

Taking to the official Playstation Blog, Michal Staniszewski of Team Plastic, makers of previous PSN hit, 2007′s Linger in Shadows, announced the upcoming PSN exclusive, Datura. Few details were provided about the upcoming game, but what has been confirmed is rather interesting.

Staniszewski described Datura as a game that draws inspiration from “film-like” stories, and offers players a narrative in which they can physically participate. Players will navigate “a mysterious forest”, making extensive use of Playstation 3′s Move controller to take part in a “unique experimental narrative” which will enable not only visual interaction with the environment, but also an empirical one. Staniszewski described it as “an illusion that you can actually touch trees, faces, and other objects.”

No other details were provided, but the logo suggests a whimsical tone, and we approve. The game is due for release later in 2012. It’ll almost certainly be shown off at E3 2012, and we’ll be on hand to try it out.
