Sony Confirms NGP to Release This Year and Playstation Store to Return This Month

Sony might be hurting financially and basically under siege from unknown Internet terrorists, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t moving forward with its next round of ordinance in handheld/mobile gaming warfare.

During an earnings report call, Sony confirmed it’s still looking to get the NGP and its touch interfaces covered in our dirty fingerprints by the end of the year. We’re expecting to see a whole lot of NGP stuff at E3 in a couple weeks, including some previously unmentioned games (hopefully), so make sure you come back for full details on the super-device.

As for the Playstation Store and the remaining issues with the Playstation Network and Qriocity, Sony’s hoping to get those all handled by the end of the month or soon after. So you can finally snag the free stuff Sony’s offering for the protracted cyber-implosion of the PSN.

And don’t forget to cash in your free identity theft protection while you’re waiting.
