Sony Dates Badass 3D Headset

Sony today announced a date for a wildly awesome 3D headset thing that loos like the coolest thing ever. In essence, it’s a TV for your face.

The gadget, dubbed the HMZ-T1, is a pair of goggles with two 720p OLED screens inside that can display either 2D or 3D visuals and output 5.1 surround sound directly into your ears. Just in case you don’t want to completely shut out the world, you can output video and audio from the device to a TV via HDMI.

The device will be compatible with the PlayStation 3, which means I have to get one. The headset will be released in Japan on November 11 for the price of ¥60,000.
