Sony Denies 80 GB PS3 Coming To US… For Now…

ps3console1.jpg
Yesterday it was reported that next month South Korea would be getting PS3s with an included 80GB hard drive. Of course, we as Americans assumed we were next in line to get this much wanted upgraded PS3.  According to Sony though, we should know what happens when we assume anything.  During a phone interview with Next Generation, an SCEA PR rep said,

“We’re constantly looking at newâ$¦ configurations [for PS3], but currently there are no plans to change current hardware offerings [in North America]

It seems that we’ll have to be patient and wait our turn in order to get some 80GB goodness. Hopefully Sony can cut us some slack and either offer a price cut for the PS3 or at least give us what the South Koreans have. Or maybe even better. 100GB! Take that South Korea!
