Sony Marks Playstation’s 15th Anniversary with Giant Infographics

Fifteen years ago today, the Playstation launched in North America. And, obviously, this is a big deal to Sony, and so somebody over there at SCEA put together a pair of bulky infographics about Playstation stuff. The first is just random fun facts about the preferences of the people who like Playstation.

A few notes. Kratos is a rotten choice for favorite Playstation character. I am in that 10% who say the ladies in my life must be cool with my gaming obsession. Pizza, chips and popcorn are terrible gaming snacks because you’ll get grease and salt all over your hands; veggies are good, though, and I prefer carrots.

Moving on. Our second Sony graphic is a Playstation timeline. You might notice an important item is missing. See if you can figure out what it is.

What’s missing? The introduction of the Dual Analog controller for the Playstation in 1997, of course.

Fun times.

I wish they’d celebrate by allowing PS2 downloads for PS3.
